I believe our cultural views of body image and food have led us astray. These views are making us sick with eating disorders, poor body image, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, food addictions, exercise struggles, etc. I believe in challenging the status quo by providing people with access to the most effective care, the simplest means of understanding these struggles, and direction at the best chances of success. Unfortunately this care is not always provided in the traditional settings.
I am working diligently to create more awareness about eating disorders and body image issues. Most of these individuals are not being discovered effectively. I have studied and worked with the treatment modalities that give patients the greatest levels of recovery success, and I know people can get amazing outcomes in the outpatient setting, sometimes preventing hospitalization.
I do this because I understand it is the key to recovery, and there is nothing like seeing “the stars” return to a person’s eyes!
